Meier Camera Shop offers classes geared toward improving your skills as a photographer. Subject matter ranges from basic knowledge about your camera to digitally editing and improving your photos.

Class size is limited to insure that each participant gets the full attention needed to succeed.

Currently we offer the following classes:

Digital SLR Photography

$80.00 per person for four 2-hour sessions
($60.00 with purchase of a digital camera from Meier Camera Shop)

  • General use, care and maintenance of your SLR camera
  • Composition, color and light to create stunning images
  • Use of aperture, shutter speed and ISO for great action pictures
  • White balance for proper color indoors
  • Flash techniques, use of filters and accessories

Classes can be made up if you miss one!

Advanced Digital Photography

$75.00 per person for six 2-hour sessions

let's learn to take better pictures!

  • In-depth review of Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO
  • Using the Histogram and blinking highlights for better exposure
  • Outdoor lighting techniques - working with a high contrast scene
  • Opening your eyes - "A great image is right in front of you!"
  • Close up pictures - using close up filters, lenses, and reflectors to take great close ups
  • White balance for proper colors indoors
  • Two of the sessions we will go and shoot on location
